Bianca Leigh Sings at Suppertime on Sundays at Island Breeze

Lovely Bianca Leigh sings Sunday dinnertime shows at Island Breeze restaurant, at the dock in Cherry Grove. I caught her appearance on June 1. Randy Baker was on sound.

Swinging, scatting, and singing sweetly, Bianca began with "Almost Like Being in Love." She warmed our hearts with bilingual accounts of "Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen," in Yiddish and English, and "Danke Schoen," in German and English.

In no uncertain terms, Bianca told off a man-the cad!-who left her to sing "The Blues in the Night," which she capped with a ringing high note. She radiated strength and capability, asserting, "I'm a Woman-W-O-M-A-N," but profoundly rued, "Don't Get Around Much Anymore."

Bianca delivered an ecstatic "All the Things You Are" and a sentimental "Moon River." Although she may flirt, she declared, "My Heart Belongs to Daddy."

Prior to her performance at Island Breeze, Bianca put in a cameo appearance at the Ice Palace to blend voices mellifluously with Porsche in "Miss Celie's Blues."
