Grove welcomes the new firetruck
in honor of Chief Lyn Hutton

On the afternoon of August 1, Cherry Grove Fire Department (CGFD) firefighters and other members of the community gathered at the Grove dock to welcome the arrival of a new firetruck, honoring past Fire Chief Lyn Hutton, who is one of the three surviving original Grove Invaders of the Pines in 1976. Councilmember Neil Foley was present with a proclamation declaring this “Lyn Hutton Day in the Town of Brookhaven.” Hutton herself, sheltering at home in Florida during the Covid-19 pandemic, was not able to be with us for the occasion.
