On May 21, our dear pianist-singer-songwriter Dan Daly returned to making music at Sand Castle restaurant, at the ocean, after a season’s absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Such adjustments as Lucite sheets separating the pianist and solo singers from each other and from the restaurant patrons and requiring masks on entering and moving around have been made for protection from Covid.
On Dan’s first night, we sang everything from Cole Porter and George Gershwin to Irving Berlin and Rodgers and Hammerstein to Barry Manilow, the Carpenters, the Mamas and the Papas, and the Beatles. Those who sang solos, beside Dan, were Mike Schaefer, Anthony Floyd, and this writer.
