Daniel Nardicio’s season at the Ice Palace, which included weekly Underwear Parties and an Icon Series that featured the likes of Broadway legends Chita Rivera and Carol Channing, all guaranteeing packed houses, concluded with the Back to School Underwear Party on September 21. DJ Chuck McTague was responsible for music, lights, and sound.
Petra Brehl, Rick Dugas, and the rest of the folks from Dune Point came as naughty schoolgirls, with Nicki Serrato as a schoolboy. Four Messrs. Fire Island Leather were present—2013 Candido Soares, 2005 Joe Saporito, 2004 Jeff Goodman, and 2001 this writer—as was most of the staff of Top of the Bay. Richie and Wes were there, as was Nowhere bartender River. There was also a man with a green and black slide trombone, which he played occasionally during the party.
