Homecoming Queen 2014 Whore D’Oeuvre and APCG President Thom “Panzi” Hansen cut ribbons to open the show officially. Whore D’Oeuvre awarded her Queen’s Choice ribbon to “The Eye,” in acrylic on canvas, painted at the end of July, expressly for this show, by Larry Crawford from Crawford, Texas. Panzi presented the President’s Choice ribbon to “Creatures Assemble” from artist Andres F. “Fernando” Santa’s “field series” of paintings.
Other artists displaying work were Michael Abdis, with his stained glass; abstract artist Cathy Eckdahl; Bill Silver, posthumously; Warren Boyd Wexler, with his Fire Island Nature photographs; painter Rolande Cicurel; painter Janice Marie Gabriel; Todd Yeager, who brought his book “Rascals: The erotic fantasies of Todd Yeager” and erotic paintings and prints; Dennis McConkey, with paintings and pottery; Michael J. Quan with his Alyxia Leaf jewelry and other works, “Nature transformed by craftsmanship;” painters Tom and Tracy Serafini; Michael Fitzgerald; and, in absentia, John Mansueto and photographer Lorraine Michels.
