Cherry Grove Memorial Fund President Richard Schack has announced that the Fund’s Board of Directors has approved a $3,600 grant to “the Cherry Grove Archive Collection for the continued digitalization of archival materials and offsite storage.” Richard wrote, in an email to Fire Island Q News, that, “with that, we have contributed over $12,000 to this important initiative over the past few years.” This “is consistent with our mission to do good works in the community and honor those who have passed on.”
Richard urges, “Please support the Cherry Grove Memorial fund with a contribution. Checks should be made payable to Cherry Grove Memorial Fund and can be given directly to Evelyn Danko [at A Summer Place Realty] or sent to our PO Box 4141,” Cherry Grove NY 11782-0998.
The Archives will display its invaluable materials in its Archives Show at the Community House on July 25 and 26.
