On the blistering hot morning on June 13, a motley assortment of clerics, church ladies, a butterfly, and a Viking offering their blessing to homes, businesses, pets, and so on, in the traditional House Blessing, and raised $5,152 for Cherry Grove organizations.
Of the funds raised, $821 was allotted to the Arts Project of Cherry Grove, $631 to the Cherry Grove Community Association, Inc., $706 to the Cherry Grove Fire Department toward the purchase of the new fire truck, $1,081 to the Cherry Grove Dunes Fund, $681 toward Emergency Medical Services in Cherry Grove, $631 to the Cherry Grove Memorial Fund, and $601 to the Pines Animal Welfare Society.
Organizers said, "A big thank you to those who volunteere and those who donated."
