The Arts Project of Cherry Grove (APCG) held its annual Casino, with a theme, this year, of “Over the Rainbow,” on Cherry Grove’s Pride Day, June 20, at the historic Community House, and with 159 in attendance during its five-hour duration, the event made $4,487 for the organization, according to APCG Treasurer Eric Coyne. There was also the distinct flavor of Las Vegas and its classic casinos in the air, recalling “Déjà Vu,” Demi-Tasse’s Vegas-themed show last Labor Day, as those in attendance tried their luck at blackjack, roulette, and wheels of fortune. Most imaginative among the volunteer staff members’ costumes were Angela Smith’s white unicorn and Anna Tirado’s black cat garb.
