Photographer Koitz’s work was exhibited in the Cherry Grove Community House on June 25 and 26 and July 2, thanks to the Arts Project of Cherry Grove, in a show entitled “SNAP!! Cherry Grove—One of a Kind,” curated by Ned Davies, with proceeds from the sale of photographs going to the Save Our Community House fundraising campaign.
On display were some two dozen of Koitz’s compelling portraits of Grove figures, including Panzi, Bianca Del Rio, Dallas Dubois, Logan Hardcore, and Ariel Sinclair; looks at locales, past and present, such as the Grove Hotel, now burned down, and Belvedere Guest House for Men; and documentation of events, like Lady Gaga’s August 8, 2008 performance at the Ice Palace and the annual Independence Day Grove Invasion of the Pines.
“SNAP!!” presented a welcome glimpse of the oeuvre of an exceptional artist.
