On September 17, the second annual Miss Tiki Bar contest was held at Island Breeze restaurant, while across the way, Cherry’s celebrated Christmas.
LeeLee Heavenly beat five other contenders for the title of Miss Tiki Bar 2016, a $700 prize, and the crown, which was placed on her head by Coco Love, Miss Tiki Bar 2015 and first ever to hold the title. The runner up was Don and his Ho’s, a group, which donated the $200 prize to Concerned Women of the Grove. The most popular, the audience favorite, was Gina Marie, winning $100. The other contestants were Lola Galore, Grace Ann Compassion, and Lucy in Disguise.
Ivanna Cocktail, celebrating her birthday, served as contest host; Tish, Meryl Facterman, and Bella were the judges; and Greg Scarnici was the DJ.
Miss Cherry’s 2012 Ginger Snap hosted the Christmas-themed show at Cherry’s, which she opened with “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” Reigning Miss Cherry’s Pataya Hart was among the other performers. Lenny Trovato was the DJ.

Cherry’s holds its Candyland Party on September 24, celebrating Jacqué and Carlos’ birthdays, with Queen Susan Levine as DJ; the Halloween Party on October 1, with music by DJ Tommy Bruno; and the Survivors Party, the closing event, on October 8, with DJ Tanco responsible for music and sound.
