On August 27, Cherry’s offered a drag extravaganza, featuring young, enthusiastic performers, starting with reigning Miss Cherry’s Boudoir LeFleur, in “Boudoir Ce Soir,” with guest Kimmie Moore, winner of Cherry’s “So You Want a Job?” contest at the beginning of the season, and DJ Justin Time assisting, and continuing with Jizzabella and Kimmee’s “Midnight Mass,” with the artists DJing for each other. Jizzabella won last year’s “So You Want a Job?” contest. Candi Cox was an additional guest. Kimmee’s family came from Sayville to support her.
Seductive, energetic Boudoir opened with “Blow Your Mind,” with an onstage costume change, and went on to Lady Gaga’s “Show Me Your Teeth,” AC/DC’s “Back in Black,” and Liza Minnelli’s “I Gotcha, from “Liza with a Z.” Boudoir and Kimmee collaborated on a dynamic rendition of Michael and Janet Jackson’s “Scream,” complete with dance, sparklers, and a jump onto the bar. Kimmee gave us Ariana Grande’s “Into You” and Boudoir worked a cartwheel into Billy Idol’s version of “Mony Mony,” and followed it with Katy Perry’s “E.T.” The pair brought down the house with duets of Lady Gaga’s “Do What U Want” and Gaga and Beyoncé’s “Telephone,” with cans and rope for communication.
Boudoir saluted Prince with a mix of “1999,” “When Doves Cry,” and “Purple Rain,” and waxed mystical with “Dark Lady,” “I Put a Spell on You,” and “Gypsy,” with a split and a rose petal storm. Boudoir, Kimmie, Jizzabella, and Candi’s vivid “Lady Marmalade” capped this show.
“Midnight Mass” opened with Jizzabella doing Katy Perry’s “Waking up in Vegas” and Candi Cox remembering Whitney Houston with “So Emotional,” with an on-stage wig change. Kimmee declared, like Christine Aguilera, “I Am a Good Girl,” while Jizzabella regretted getting “No Respect.” Candi rapped about "One Big Room Full of Bad Bitches” and did a split, and Kimmee wondered, “(If I said I wanted your body now, would you) Hold It Against Me.” Rounding out this “Midnight Mass,” Jizzabella and Kimmee read audience members’ written confessions.
All told, it was a very full evening of a great deal of music and a great deal of talent.
