Craig Burns Eberhardt, co-owner of the ornate Belvedere Guest House for Men, passed away early on the morning of August 20, after a long and arduous battle with cancer. He is survived by his spouse and co-owner of Belvedere Julian Dorcelien Eberhardt. Craig was predeceased, in March 2014, by John Eberhardt, his former partner and founder of Belvedere, who had adopted him.
Valued member of the community, Craig and Julian opened Belvedere to Cherry Grove Community Association, Inc. events, such as the Carnival in Venice and Retro parties and to other Grove causes, as well as to Excelsior Motorcycle Club for its Leather Weekend and to Daniel Nardicio, for the Spartacus Party and Mr. Nude Belvedere contest. Craig and John also hosted the first-ever Grove benefit for God’s Love We Deliver, which provides meals to homebound people with AIDS, in 1993.
Craig will be sorely missed by Cherry Grove. Our sincerest condolences go out to Julian.
