Rock band Triage, made up of Tobie Dean Tripodi, Ann Mounty, and our neighbor Sue Cialini-King, on voices and guitars, paid an annual visit to Cherry’s on July 21 and dazzled the crowd once again. I was present for their first set.
The trio introduced themselves with a rousing “Runaway,” a propulsive “Mystery Achievement” and, with drive, “You Really Got Me.” They lyrically limned “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and got the crowd up on their feet on the dance floor. “(But I) Still Haven’t Found (what I’m looking for),” the musicians offered, ruefully and romantically.
Triage continued with a forceful “Authority Song” and “These Boots (are made for walking),” a serious sing-along. They celebrated a “Crazy Little Thing (called love)” and, during their carefree “Hand in My Pocket,” the Alanis Morissette song, the rapturous audience rained dollar bills on them.
Sue took over the lead vocals in “Highway to Hell.” Triage gave us their “Lovin’ Touches” and some “Rock ’n’ Roll” before they took their leave of us.
