The centerpiece of Cherry’s early Christmas Party, on September 15, was a wild and zany Christmas gala, assisted by DJ Tommy Bruno, and hosted by Boudoir LeFleur, who opened with an energetic account of Dua Lippa’s “Blow Your Mind.” Kimmi Moore seduced us with Ariana Grande’s “Into You” and, in no uncertain terms, accused her love of being a “Womanizer.” New Miss Cherry Grove Jizzabella began with a sweet and childlike “All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth” and grew up to ask, “Santa, Can You Hear Me?” à la Britney Spears. Statuesque Kendra Kinx taught us about love in Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” and saluted the diversity of Nicki Minaj. Boudoir and Kimmi paid homage to Lady Gaga and Beyoncé, inviting “Do What You Want (with my body)” and continuing with “Telephone,” with empty cans from tomatoes as their phones. Jizzy gave us Robyn’s “Dancing on My Own,” which she said reminds her of her experience at the underwear party.
Busted gave us her take on the national anthem, which inspired a group of Grovites to kneel, and on the guy occupying the White House (“I know what mental illness looks like”)! Josh serenaded us with feeling with “This Christmas.” Jizzabella finished up with a moving “Proud” and Boudoir and Kimmi’s tour de force finale was their “Bitch” mash-up.
