With Cherry Grove Community Association, Inc. (CGCAI) President Diane Romano presiding over the ritual, the spanking new Cherry Grove dock was christened on May 18, as Brookhaven Deputy Commissioner of Parks and Recreation Robert Maag and CGCAI’s Geri LoSquadro smashed the bottles of champagne that hailed it.
Local elected officials Brookhaven Town Supervisor Edward P. Romaine, Brookhaven Town Councilman Neil Foley, and New York State Senator from Suffolk County Monica R. Martinez were present for the occasion, as were a host of Cherry Grove luminaries, including Homecoming Queen Rose Levine and members of the Cherry Grove Fire Department.
