Arts Project of Cherry Grove (APCG) members and guests had great fun with the theme of this year’s Casino fundraiser, the “Emerald City Casino,” coordinated by Francine Sardone, at the Cherry Grove Community House on July 27.
Joan Van Ness came as Dorothy Gale; Angela Smith was Auntie Em; Matt Baney and Mark Atten came as Uncle Henry; Dale was the Tin Woodsperson; Jack Ruolo was the Cowardly Lion; Anna Tirado was Toto; Lorraine Michels was the twister; Sue Panzer, Joann Orfanos, and others were the Flying Monkeys; Doreen Rallo and Cory Younger came in green face as the Wicked Witch of the West; and Lois Pisano was Glinda the Good. Electra came as Elton John.
A marriage proposal took place before the Emerald City backdrop, as Ocean Beach’s Joe Mello and Elise Christine became engaged, APCG’s Michael Moran reported.
According to APCG Treasurer Eric Coyne, the “Emerald City Casino” grossed approximately $5,900 and netted approximately $4,000 for the organization. There were 204 paying customers in attendance.
