On May 1, beloved pianist-singer-songwriter Dan Daly made his seasonal return to Cherry Grove to perform outdoors at Cherry Grove Pizza. Beginning on May 21, he will also play at Sand Castle on the Ocea restaurant, as he has in the past.
Dan favored us with a number of his wonderful original songs about love, both gone wrong and satisfying. Of the regular singers, Mike Schaefer (“Nice ’n’ Easy”) and this writer (“Moon River,” “Some Enchanted Evening,” “L-O-V-E” and melody-countermelody duets with Dan “I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter/It’s a Sin to Tell a Lie” and “I Hear Singing/You’re Just in Love”) were present on this opening night.
