Philis studied in several Schools of Art in NY and Connecticut area, exhibited in more than a dozen shows including National Sculpture Society, National Academy of Design School of Fine Art, National Arts Club National Art League, just to name a few, she has been a recipient of numerous grants as well as specific art commissions. Her work has been portrayed in The National Sculpture Review Magazine, National Academy of Art and Design Exhibition Folios, Channel Five News: Featured during one woman show at the Gannymede Gallery, NYC. Philis is also listed in "World Who's Who of Women" and "Who's Who in American Art."

Her work is represented in many private collections world-wide, including the Elizabeth T. Greeenshields Foundation. The artist has lectured, taught, written art reviews, given demonstrations and juried art shows in her career as an artist.
